If you didn't know, those crazy old-timey bikes with one big wheel and one small wheel are called Penny-farthings, or sometimes high-wheels, or high-wheelers. The interesting part is the story behind the name Penny-farthing. It comes from the British penny and farthing coins. The penny was larger than the farthing in diameter and if you laid them side-by-side on a table it would slightly resemble the wheels of the Penny-farthing bicycle.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that this dapper chap probably has pinched his fair share of pennies and farthings. In fact, he probably has a collection of them. And stamps. And butterflies.
