A special Tuesday bonus comic this week, from the Retro Video Game Edition of Dear Inner Demons.

Poor poor Toad. Just waiting around in the dark, in castle after castle, and let's be honest, no one was ever happy to find him when we were expecting the princess. What a life. I can distinctly remember my cousin and I groaning in misery everytime we FINALLY beat a castle in Super Mario Bros and it turned out to be Toad. The funny part is though, in reality it was a good thing because it meant more gameplay time! Still, how we hated him.
