Use your head . . .

Another TurboGrafx16 game today. It’s Bonk from the first Bonk game: Bonk’s Adventure. I previously posted another TG16 comic for Bomberman, but Bonk was definitely the signature character for the TG16. Sort of the Mario of the TG16.

The TurboGrafx16 system holds a special place in my heart as I talked a bit about in the Bomberman post. When I was young my Mum and I spent a lot of time playing a whole slew of TurboGrafx games. I’d come home from school and she’d be playing. I love that memory. My cousin and I played a lot of games on that system together too.

The first Bonk game was okay, but it’s a series (much like Mario 1, 2, and 3) that got better with each sequel. Bonk’s Revenge was the second game, and that was so much better than the first game that I basically never went back to the first one. The third game was really great too.

The funniest thing about this game to me wasn’t even the fact that your character basically hits his head against everything and anything in the entire game, but in fact that whenever he would eat meat he would go completely insane.
