This weekend is the 2014 edition of Halifax’s Sci-Fi / Fantasy / Gaming / Comics convention - HAL-CON. Todays comic features the Hal-Con mascot, NELSON, whom you can read about HERE, along with more info about Hal-Con. A large captionless special edition print of this comic will be available at Hal-Con as well as a special edition postcard version.
I will be at Hal-Con as both a presenter and a vendor this year. You can see where I’ll be and when HERE
I’ll be selling merch, doing signings, sketches and chit-chatting via the Strange Adventures table (table 254, on the 2nd floor):
I’ll be there at the following days and times, despite what it currently says on sched.org:
Friday Nov 7th, 2014, 5:30pm-7pm
Saturday Nov 8th, 2014, 2pm-4pm
Sunday Nov 9th, 2014, 10am-12pm
I’ll be selling Dear Inner Demons postcards, greeting cards, comic prints, large special edition comic prints, and a few other special items.
In addition, I will also be giving a presentation at Hal-Con entitled FROM PAPER TO SCREEN: The Comic Artist’s Creative Battle. This talk will be a quick journey through history, examining the changes in format and media from the early 1900’s through to know. The talk will be in room 202 (The Burrow):
I’ve been getting a lot of press lately, for a few different things, one of which was the series of Heritage Minutes Posters I did for Historica Canada, which was a huge project, but more relevant to today is the feature that was in the local paper here in Halifax yesterday:
You can read the article on the web HERE, but in addition to being available on the internet, it was also in the actual tangible paper, which is always exciting! . . .
Anyways, beyond that there is plenty more coming down the pipeline, including some website tweaks and fun changes, as well as (if you haven't already seen them)) the remaining InkTobers!
Stay tuned for more updates! And thank you everyone for all the support.
